There are four gas laws commonly cited by scuba texts. Those laws are Boyle’s Law, Dalton’s Law, Henry’s Law, and Charles' Law. I’ll discuss each of those laws and explain how they relate to scuba. First, it’s important to understand that air is a mixture of gasses. It’s approximately 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. Those percentages are not entirely accurate. There are trace levels of other gasses such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. Click on one of the links below for more information.
